Advanced seminar on social ontology, educational policy and theory

As we often read, education determines the shape of society, but we also read that it is society that determines education. We see each exercising some determination on the other, rendering them reciprocally determining, or ontologically and paradoxically relational. As we claim, what creates these relations are poetic and rhetorical tropes. These tropes are what we have described under the phrase of ontological rhetorics, whereby being and becoming are guided by the tropological.

 

Join Dr. Tony Carusi (Massey University, Aotearoa / NZ), and Prof. Tomasz Szkudlarek (University of Gdańsk, Poland) for a seminar on ontological rhetorics in education theory and policy. Students and colleagues are invited for a discussion on questions we are working through in preparation of a book manuscript. The seminar (8 teaching hours) is free of charge, it will be held in a hybrid format at Institute of Education, University of Gdańsk.
